Hallo, I'm Jenny!
Hallo means hello in German. I was born and raised in Germany. My best youth friend Alex became my husband and we are still happily married, despite all what our marriage has endured. We were still newlyweds when we moved to Canada, where we have lived for nearly 10 years. Since 2018, we call Australia our permanent home. God has blessed us with 5 rowdy but sweet children. 4 boys and 1 girl.
April 16th 2016, marks the hardest day of our life. Our second son Jesse Derek died in a tragic car accident, at the age of 2 years and 8 months. In the following 3 years after child loss, we went through a test of faith and the worst time of tribulation in our life. We hit rock bottom after going through a job loss, financial hardship, health problems, a miscarriage and one big move from Canada to Australia. When things seemed to get better for us, my parents got divorced. Heartbreak after heartbreak. Nevertheless, by God's grace we have experienced growth instead of defeat. During that whole time we kept homeschooling and welcomed our 4th and 5th baby. I am always inspired and encouraged by other Christians who have overcome their heartbreaking stories. This is why I love to share our testimony as an encouragement for His glory! |

About Joy in Grief
Joy in Grief was founded a few weeks after our child loss, in 2016. Out of my grief, pain, comfort, and hope I started to write down what I think, feel, and believe to help with my healing process but also as an encouragement for others. All blog posts are also translated into German (Deutsch), for our family and friends in Germany.
Finding Purpose after Child Loss
The Bible teaches us that every Christian's first purpose is to have a personal relationship with God. We live with Him here on Earth and in Heaven for ever. Our ultimate calling is to bring others to Christ for eternal salvation and discipleship. After our child loss, our family has gone through so many more life changing challenges and struggles so that my desire to inspire and encourage other women has grown into my passion.

Rebuilding Life after Child Loss
She Builds Her House and Me and My House is the rebuilding life part of our child loss story. We pray that it will help other grieving parents rebuild their own lives, with God's help, wisdom, and strength.
Early in our marriage, God put Proverbs 14:1 on my heart as my life mission. Every woman buildeth her house but the foolish plucketh it down with her own hands. The Bible also teaches that it is HIM who builds the house or else we labour in vain (Psalm 127:1). That means I completely rely on His strength and wisdom to build up my own family.
We live in a world where the love of self and earthly pleasures distract us from living by faith in God. Many profess to be Christians but most live like God would not exist.
My ministry mission is to be the wise woman who builds her own house (Proverbs 14:1) and encourages other women to overcome all small and big challenges in life, by building strong Christ centered families in a self centered world. I am not the prime example of a Biblical mother and wife. I am learning alongside you. Yet, I have gained some life experiences who help me to see the challenges and problems we face from a different perspective. Persevering our suffering opened the door for our family ministries. In my real daily life, I always try to reach out and encourage my friends, other wives and mothers however I can.
In 2019, I also founded the website She Builds Her Family as an inspirational and encouraging resource for all other women. She Builds Her Family is all about true Christian faith, homeschool family life, marriage, parenting, and uplifting friendships. Building strong Christ centered families in a self centered world.
We rejoice with joy unspeakable as Christ transforms our families to bring glory to Him.
